DuPont™ Tyvek® StuccoWrap® is a weather-resistant barrier with an engineered, grooved surface designed to be installed as a drainage plane behind stucco facades and EIFS systems. With a specially engineered surface texture designed for traditional and synthetic stucco systems in both commercial and residential construction, Tyvek® StuccoWrap® helps reduce cracking, improve stucco curing and channel moisture out of the wall.

Tyvek® StuccoWrap® can be used as the primary weather barrier for traditional stucco and direct-applied stone masonry applications (including brick) requiring two-layer weather resistive barrier systems or an intervening layer over the primary weather resistive barrier. It is also acceptable for use behind traditional lapped cedar and cement siding applications up to four stories. Tyvek® StuccoWrap® boasts a long track record of proven performance and meets all major building codes by ICC-ES evaluation reports.

Tyvek® StuccoWrap® does not absorb water, helps maintain the moisture level needed for better curing and doesn’t expand and contract, resulting in a stronger stucco. Instead, Tyvek® StuccoWrap® provides superior water drainage, combats moisture accumulation and helps prevent air infiltration and exfiltration – helping to protect the installed R-value of insulation for more comfortable, energy efficient homes and buildings.

Tyvek® StuccoWrap® is lightweight, easy to handle and quick to install. It is pliable – wrapping around corners with ease – and easily interfaces at joints and over architectural elements.

DuPont™ Tyvek® StuccoWrap® ensures that the unique water management needs of stucco facades are covered without compromising building envelope performance. Tyvek® StuccoWrap® is highly inert, meaning stucco will not chemically react with or degrade it. Research has shown that when stucco is directly applied, Tyvek® StuccoWrap® is better than Grade D paper at managing hydration and remaining stable during curing. These two features result in a significant reduction of cracking in the scratch coat, leading to better stucco integrity and a reduced chance for water to penetrate the facade.
